Weather- Having such a southern latitude Las Cruces enjoys year round warmth.  The average high in January is 57 degrees, while the average low is 21 degrees.  In July the average high is 95 degrees, and low 62 degrees.  The average yearly precipitation is 10 inches.

Location- Las Cruces is located in southern-central New Mexico, 35 miles north of El Paso, Texas, 210 miles south of Albuquerque, and 270 miles east of Tucson, Arizona.

Activities- Las Cruces is home to four 18-hole golf courses (3 public), three movie theatres housing 20 screens, the 13,000 seat Pan American Center which hosts major concerts, plays, and NMSU basketball games, Aggie Memorial Stadium which seats up to 30,000 people for NMSU football games, one mall, one bowling alley, and 180 restaurants that include the local Mexican food flavor and national chains (Chili's, Applebee's, Red Lobster, Bennigans, and Uno's).  If snow skiing is your thing, you can be on the slopes of Ski Apache in less than a two hour drive to the east.  If you prefer boating, fishing, or water skiing, Elephant Butte Lake is 75 miles to the north.  If you are a bargain shopper, Ciudad Juarez, Mexico is only a 45 minute drive to the south.
